Roddy Cantey has been the owner of ProAm Tennis & Pickleball for 16 years and is in his fourth year as a co-commissioner of the Naples PronTennis League.

Roddy's impressive tennis career began in high school, where he was the #1 singles and doubles player for three years. As captain, he led his team to three consecutive South Carolina 4A state titles with an exceptional 59-1 record. In his senior year, he won the high school individual state championship and earned the title of South Carolina’s Mr. Tennis.

Roddy continued to excel at Penn State University, where he was a standout in both singles and doubles. During his senior year, he captained the team at #1 singles and doubles and reached the semi-finals of the Big-10 individual tournament. His contributions were recognized with Penn State’s “Iron Man” award his junior year and the “Holmes Cathrall Coaches Award” his senior year. Unfortunately, a serious knee injury during his senior year ended his competitive career.

In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Roddy has garnered numerous sportsmanship awards. He was named sportsman of the year at the Big-10 final banquet in his senior year and is the only junior player to win the sportsmanship award in the Southern Section Closed Tournament across the 14s, 16s, and 18s divisions. His family was honored as the tennis “Family of the Year” in South Carolina in 1998.

Roddy is married to Sarah (Witten) Cantey, a University of Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee, and they have three children: Everett (8), Natalie (8), and Vivian (6).

MARTINA
FRANTOVA

Martina Frantova, originally from Bratislava, Slovakia, is in her fourth season as a co-commissioner of the Naples Pro Tennis League.

Martina's passion for tennis has been a defining part of her life since she was a child, inspired by her father. She began playing at the age of 10 and later competed on the tennis pro tour, achieving a highest singles WTA ranking of 837 and 694 in doubles.

After a shoulder surgery cut her pro career short, Martina pursued her education while continuing to play. She graduated from North Carolina State University in 2017 with a double major in Business Administration and Spanish. At NC State, she excelled as the captain of the varsity tennis team, holding the number 1 position in both singles and doubles, and earning top 30 and top 10 collegiate rankings respectively.

Post-graduation, Martina gained coaching experience as an assistant tennis coach at Florida Gulf Coast University and worked as a tennis professional and pro shop manager at the Club of Kalea Bay. Currently, she owns and manages ProAm Tennis & Pickleball, a specialty retail store in Naples, Florida, and competes as a professional pickleball player on the PPA/MLP tour.

Martina lives with her two German shepherds, Sasha and Paco, and continues to share her love for tennis and pickleball with the local community and club members.
