Eric has an impressive tennis career spanning decades. He serves as the Head Tennis Professional and Director of Tennis at Hideaway Beach Club in Marco Island, Florida, and leads the Junior Tennis Program at the Lake Club in New Canaan, Connecticut. Eric coached the Barron Collier High School tennis team to an incredible eight state championships in nine years and achieved back-to-back runner-up finishes at the National High School Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. As the longest active player in the Naples Pro League, Eric has been competing since its inception in 2001, showcasing his dedication and passion for the sport.
Alan, a Merchandise Specialist and Teaching Professional at Bay Colony, was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. He played collegiate tennis for four years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also spent a season as a Student Assistant Tennis Coach. His passion for the sport and experience both on and off the court have shaped his career in the tennis industry today.

Desislav (Des) Borov is the Director of Tennis at Talis Park, where he combines his passion for the sport with years of experience. He began his teaching career in his hometown in Bulgaria, later competing in Germany and the UK before relocating to Naples in 2008. After five years at Fiddler’s Creek, Des joined Talis Park in 2019 and was appointed Director of Tennis in 2020. An avid competitor, he plays in both the Naples Pro League and the Ft. Myers Pro League, where he has also served as captain. When he’s not on the court, Des enjoys spending time with his family, playing beach volleyball, golfing, and fishing.

Jim is a seasoned tennis leader with a strong background in both competitive play and team management. A former top junior player in Florida, Jim has continued his passion for the sport by leading successful teams. In 2012, he captained a Men’s 5.0 Naples team to a #2 national finish, and in 2018, he guided a Women’s 2.5 team to the USTA Nationals. Jim’s expertise in building competitive teams highlights his dedication to fostering excellence on and off the court.

Johann Saurbier

Born in Guatemala to German parents, Johann began playing tennis at the age of 9. He then moved to Naples where he played tennis for Naples High School. In pursuit of a business career, Johann went to Babson College where he captained the squash and tennis teams. His athletic accomplishments while at Babson included a New England Div. III Singles title and and ECAC Div. II/III Doubles title. He was named senior athlete of the year and later inducted into the Babson College Sports Hall of Fame.In 2010, after running Jojoka Coffee, a coffee roasting business, Johann returned to his racquet sports roots. He is now the Director of Court Sports (tennis and pickleball) at Pelican Marsh. Johann enjoys the competitive side of tennis and pickleball. He plays in the Naples Pro League, The Naples / Ft Myers Challenge, City Championships, USPTA tournaments, and various exhibitions.
John is a certified USPTA Elite Tennis and Platform Tennis Professional in addition to being a IPTPA certified Pickleball Professional. John is currently the Head Tennis Professional at Royal Poinciana Golf Club. Before moving to Naples in 2017, John was the Director of Tennis for 16 years at The Milbrook Club in Greenwich, CT and also the Head Tennis Professional at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, FL. He graduated from the University of WIsconsin-Milwaukee where he played No.1 singles and earned All Conference honors several times.

Josh Wardell was a top junior player, achieving a #2 ranking in Florida and a spot among the top 30 in the nation. His talent earned him a place on the University of Florida’s nationally ranked tennis team, consistently recognized as one of the top 5 programs in the country. During his time at Florida, Josh helped the team capture the SEC tournament title, further cementing their dominance. A 5-star recruit and ranked as high as #35 nationally, Josh's strong performance at both the junior and collegiate levels reflects his dedication and passion for the game.

Rob Labriola has played competitive tennis since the age of 12, earning junior rankings and competing in Division 1 tennis at Furman University. After playing on the satellite tour, he pursued an MBA and built a successful 32-year career in Wealth Management. Rob has also taught tennis at various clubs, served as Head Tennis Pro in Westchester, NY, founded Home Court Advantage offering private instruction, and coached Varsity tennis at John Jay High School, as well as serving as the NY State Coach for Section 1. Today, he continues to captain and compete on USTA 5.0+ league teams and in USTA Senior National events, including a recent Silver Ball at the 55 National Grass Courts in Providence, RI.
